Sparks and Reno Auto Repair

I can't say enough good things about Sunshine -- they really pulled through for me last week! As fate had it, I was in need of some brake work for my truck. The problem was, however, that I had no idea who in this town I could trust (I mean, you wouldn't just trust your brakes with anyone, would you??). So I did my share of searching around and naturally turned to Yelp, initially, but also Google Plus to see what other people had discovered. Seeing that Sunrise already had good reviews and had spent the time to fill out their review site profiles gave me confidence that they cared. It also helped that they were offering a deal via Yelp ($50 for $75 worth of work) which, for a college student like me, really made the decision to go with them that much easier! :) I came in on a Friday afternoon, keeping my fingers crossed that they could get to it before they closed for the weekend. I was greeted by Kali and he helped get me all signed in. Before I knew it, they had a bay open and my truck was up on the lift for inspection. Ken was my mechanic. A nice guy, and willing to give some useful advice (I love being able to talk with the mechanic one-on-one, and maybe learn something!). He told Kali what I needed (front brakes and rotors, primarily), and Kali gave me a quote. Once everything was said and done, the price (for both the labor and parts) was competitive and pretty close to what it should be for a job like this. They didn't gouge me or attempt to up-sell me on stuff I didn't need, which I really appreciate. The work was also quality. Having the weekend to go out and test the work they did, I can report that everything works as it should (I can finally stop, yay!). :) Really a great team there -- would do it again (and likely will). Sunshine rocks! Kalii, the Service Manager, is very nice and helpful. I had an issue with my belts squeaking after they were replaced there & they gladly tightened them up for me AND gave me a free oil change coupon. The owner, Mark Sutherlin, has given me rides to and from work when my car was being worked on. He engaged me in polite and comfortable conversation during the rides. I will recommend Sunshine to everyone.

We were driving from Prineville Oregon late Wednesday via Reno to visit friends, and had to be in Denver Colorado by Sunday for pre-surgery doctor appointments on Monday. As we were driving across the "Oregon Outback" (no equipment service facilities), we realized one of our trailer tires was developing an unusual wear in the tread due to a bent axle and misaligned tires. Thursday morning we called ahead to our friends in Reno, NV who recommended Sunshine Service. We immediately called Sunshine Service stating we would be in Reno that day and could they get us in for immediate servicing since we had to be in Colorado by Sunday for doctor appoints on Monday. WOW - what awesome people. When we reached Reno, NV - we went immediately to Sunshine and left the trailer. They re-shaped the badly bent axil, realigned all the tires, and had us on the road Saturday morning allowing us to reach Denver Sunday afternoon. So Sunshine Service - thank you so very much. Great experience, would go to again. Called my rental car agency and convinced them to pick me up. Great customer service, friendly staff, and premium parts. You get what you pay for.UPDATE: after a second trip to sunshine my previous review still stands. Friendly but expensive. You will pay a premium for parts here, labor is billed competitively but parts, well, severe mark up. Over 150% on my most recent visit. Still would recommend.

For the past two years, Sunshine Service has performed high-quality routine service on my 2005 Subaru and 1992 Bounder motorhome. In addition, the motorhome has required specialized work with suspension and alignment. They have the experience to repair an 8 ton RV, and I'm very happy with the results.

Sunshine Service has a strong core dealing with complex chassis components. Although pricey, their repairs on my 7 ton RV have proved to be most satisfactory. I depend on them for RV and auto routine maintenance as well, for the past two years.
