Sunshine provides service and can facilitate the removal and replacement of transmissions for most RVs in-house, working with you on your choice of either rebuild or replacement of the original. Sunshine is very experienced in the diagnosis, removal and replacement of recreational vehicle, class A and C gas engine transmissions. Class A diesel pushers are better to go to a diesel truck shop. We do work with them, if you want us to handle the job from beginning to end. We install Jasper and other brand remanufactured transmissions, all of which have very good warranties. For decades, we continue to work with a few select local transmission shops as may be required. We can have your either fix your transmission problem with a complete tranny rebuild, or we can just have repaired whatever may be broken inside the transmission. If your budget does not allow for a new or rebuilt transmission, we can also shop wrecking yards for low mileage used transmission options. Ei ... read more

Oil Change, Chassis Lube and 27 Point Inspection An oil change is required at intervals established by your vehicle manufacturer, and is relative to the kind of oil you use, be it conventional, a synthetic blend, or a full synthetic oil. At Sunshine, we also perform a complete 27 point vehicle inspection at the time of the oil change, which includes a brake check, along with the inspection of all belts, hoses and fluids. We use Castrol Motor Oil, as our standard oil, which is a premium product. We also carry Amsoil Motor Oil. If you have a specific brand that you like to use, we can substitute our standard oil for your oil of choice, and have it delivered from NAPA’s parts warehouse within 15 minutes. To completely service a vehicle takes about one-hour on average. An appointment is not always required, but does helps us schedule your vehicle in and out in a timely manner if you are waiting

Here is an example of a Dodge Neon that had a bad heater core. To remove and replace the heater core requires the entire removal and replacement of the steering column, dashboard and miscellaneous other components. It requires the better part of the day for a mechanic to do. On many cars, the heater core is a simple project, but with many modern designs there is more work required. Here are a few photos to give you an example of how much work is involved. It’s a job you would only want your trusted mechanic perform. Give us a call if you need this sort of work, and we’ll schedule in at a time that works well for you. We can shuttle to and from work or home, as needed. Spring and Summer is the time of year that we like to get our boats in the water without any roadside repair or unexpected event. Last year, when your trailer was sitting in water while you launched the boat, the brakes and wheel bearings were submerged in water for a few minutes, the bearings sat in water, and then they sat without moving all winter. To ensure your boating season is safe, it’s always a good idea to have your brakes checked and your wheel bearings checked for grease. Give us a call and we can get you scheduled today. At Sunshine Service Brake & Alignment, we perform all manner of engine replacement and/or rebuilds. It is often a good choice to go with what we call a crate engine, where we can obtain a rebuilt engine from one of our many suppliers who offer nationwide warranties. Sunshine Service Brake & Alignment offers a full two-year in house warranty on any work we perform, and NAPA has their nationwide warranty. We also rebuild engines, when it’s the best choice. This is the case with a classic car that is in the shop right now, where the owner wants to rebuild his original engine. The crate engine replacement is one of a few options. We often obtain used engines with low mileage, if this is your preferred option. Sunshine Service Brake & Alignment is conveniently located on 850 S. Rock in Sparks, across from Baldini’s. If you have any type of single, tandem or triple axle trailer, a Sunshine Service Brake & Alignment technician can align it for you. When you drive over bumps or the occasional curb, your trailer axle can bend slightly. The trailer’s shocks and springs cannot always absorb all of the stress. When that alignment issue becomes a problem, your choices are to live with excessive tire wear, have the axle(s) replaced, or have our highly trained and experienced mechanics straighten your axles. At Sunshine Service Brake & Alignment we have a pit that is designed specifically for axle and front end work. To accomplish a trailer axle alignment, we put wheel alignment heads on each wheel, and get readings from our Hunter Alignment machine. We can print these readings and show you which wheel is out of alignment, and what we can do to correct the problem. This video explains how we correct alignment angles(camber and toe), which can be the reason for a w ... read more
